Still far from well I hadn't intended to walk on 31st December. But fresh snowfall and a mainly sunny day
saw heading towards Croesor for a gentle stroll along the lane towards Tan y Bwlch. But first a short diversion
to photo Moelwyn Mawr and Moelwyn Bach from Prenteg, near to Porthmadog.
Closer view of Moelwyn Bach with fresh lying snow to quite a low level.
Walking away from Croesor and Cnicht dominates the view to the North.
Moelwyn Mawr seen from the lane towards Tan y Bwlch
High point a couple of hundred metres from the lane, and a look back at Moel Hebog and the Nantlle Ridge.
Nantlle Ridge.
A closer look at Moel Hebog.
The conditions were superb so I decided to extend my short stroll and see how far up Moelwyn Bach
I could get before having to turn back as evening approached!
Snowdon Horeshoe with an enormous amount of fresh lying snow on all of it.
A snowman sulking because it was facing away from that wonderful view of the Snowdon Horseshoe.
View South towards the Arenigs.
Ahead was a steep section on Moelwyn Bach, and I reckoned I had time to "summit" the top of it.
To the West a snow covered Cnicht.
Snowdon Horseshoe again.
The Arenigs.
I was having to cross deep wind blown snowfields and that slowed me, but didn't stop me reaching the mini summit!
I reached the high point, and with evening approaching fast I headed
back down, stopping to look down to the sea near Porthmadog.
The sun was heading down fast, and I had one last view to the coast before heading back to Croesor.
