Time: circa 3 hrs both days

Beddgelert and Mynydd Sygyn Circular Walk class= Beddgelert and Mynydd Sygyn Circular Walk class= This trip to Snowdonia had been planned for some time. Primarily as I didn't want to be at home over the period of time that I had lost my darling wife Bobbie in 2007. I was booked into the wonderfully welcoming Beddgelert Bistro for an indeterminate time: an ideal location so close to the mountains. That allowed a Christmas Eve circular walk starting right in the village, a walk I repeated from before dawn on Christmas morning. Being pre dawn I started with a headtorch and found I needed to use my hands a lot more than doing the same walk the previous day!

I chose this walk as the route was clear in my mind from the previous day. Although it was with some relief that I climbed up to the gate through the stone wall part way up.

Looking back as the first glimmer of dawn showed, the lights of Beddgelert shone brightly in the valley below. Not a bad way to see in Christmas day!

A murky dawn greeted me as I reached the summit of the small hill named Mynydd Sygyn.

I came down the hill on the track via the old Copper Mine, the back along by the river to Beddgelert so as to be able to taek an active part in the Village's Christmad Morning celebrations.
