Another look back in these superb weather conditions to the difficult South Ridge section.
A look towards Y Llweydd.
In almost every direction the combination of fresh, icy snowy and low December sunshine gave wonderful views.
But I still had some work to do, and ahead the route was to get steep for one last time.
Not far to go now as the summit appeared in front of me.
Then I was on the summit area, with spectacular views: here back to the South Ridge.
More superb summit views
I decided to return via the Snowdon Rangers Path, and as I started my descent I looked back at the summit: no surprise it was quite busy today!
A pause to look across to Grib Goch.
And a look back at the summit of Snowdon.
My route took me past the point where the Pyg and Miners' tracks joined the summit ridge.
A look down at the lakes passed by the Pyg and Miners' tracks.
I spent more than an hour enjoying a rare break in the lovely weather, before heading off down the Rangers Path.
I was soon on my own and enjoyed the mainly gentle descent of the path, soon leaving the snow behind me.
The bottom of the valley and a walk back along the road to get to my car at Rhyd Ddu. Not before a final sight of Moel Hebog and two companions that had greeted me a good few hours before.
