Two hard days winter walking on Kinder meant a warm down walk was needed. And what better place to do that, than in Lathkill Dale near to Bakewell.

Starting from near Conksbury Bridge and the famous wiers, (above), we headed West, past this lovely old barn.

A gnarled and moss covered tree stands by the river path.

And always the noise of water at this end of the lovely Dale.

Lathkill Dale is famous for it's Dippers. But many other birds can be seen as well: like the Grey Wagtail. Sunny and I also saw a pair of Buzzards, a Tree Creeper, Wren, Long Tailed Tits, Swans, Moorhen, Coots and Mallards! And my sharp eyed companion also spotted a weasel running along a stone wall.

Ah. The source of a lot of the water that flows through the Dale!

After we left the river the Dale broadened up, and then narrowed into a rocky and moss covered section.
Where we enjoyed a yummy lunch!

Back near to Conksbury and it is so appropriate that a lasting memory of the walk should be
some of the resident wildlife. Photo by Sunnydale
